EXOTIC ARTILLERY GUIDE · UPDATED SEPTEMBER 2, 2026

RAD Katyusha in Military Tycoon — Complete Guide

RAD Katyusha is an Exotic artillery vehicle built around unique RAD Rockets — small nuclear-style rockets with a large blast radius. It came from the Stallion Event through Free Spin and remains useful for high-damage ground attacks and Destroyer X farming. The current tracked value is 10K–15K Gems, while the supplied in-game card shows RAP 15K.

Confirmed current identity: RAD Katyusha uses unique RAD Rockets. These are small nuclear-style unguided rockets with slow travel speed, medium damage and a high blast radius. The current tracker also notes that an older RAD-reload patch/exploit has been fixed, so old reload tricks should not be treated as current behavior.

What is RAD Katyusha?

RAD Katyusha is the Exotic nuclear counterpart to the normal Katyusha. It is based on the Soviet BM-13 Katyusha concept and was introduced during the Stallion Event.

The Military Tycoon Wiki lists it as a permanent, non-buildable Ground Vehicle obtained through Free Spin. It was also the first Exotic vehicle to appear on the Spin Wheel.

RAD Rockets

The vehicle's primary weapon is the unique RAD Rocket.

Current weapon documentation describes RAD Rockets as small nuclear-style rockets that are unguided, relatively slow, deal medium direct damage and create a large blast radius.

Why the blast radius matters

RAD Katyusha is most dangerous when enemies are grouped or when a large target cannot easily move away from the impact area. You do not need every rocket to hit the exact same point for the barrage to create pressure.

  • large ground vehicles are easier to hit;
  • clustered enemies take more value from splash damage;
  • boss targets provide a large and predictable target area;
  • objectives and narrow passages make dodging harder.

High missile damage

The Wiki specifically lists high missile damage as one of RAD Katyusha's advantages.

This makes the vehicle much more threatening than the simple Damage bar on the in-game card may suggest, especially when multiple rockets land close together.

Destroyer X performance

The Military Tycoon Wiki describes RAD Katyusha as one of the best 5-star vehicles for Destroyer X, potentially one of the strongest options for that boss.

Its large-area RAD Rocket damage works well against a huge boss target where slow unguided projectiles are easier to land consistently.

Base stats

The Military Tycoon Wiki currently lists:

  • Base Speed: 24;
  • Base Health: 4.05K;
  • Total Base Damage: 34.8K;
  • Vehicle Type: Ground;
  • Vehicle Class: Artillery;
  • Primary Weapon: RAD Rockets.

What the supplied stat card shows

Your screenshot shows:

  • Damage: high;
  • Health: extremely low on the displayed card;
  • Speed: low-to-moderate;
  • RAP: 15K.

The card also confirms the Exotic rarity and Artillery class.

Main weakness: low Health

The Wiki explicitly lists low health as a disadvantage, and the supplied card makes that weakness obvious.

RAD Katyusha should not be driven directly into a frontline tank fight. It performs better when firing from a safer position where opponents have to work to reach it.

Uneven terrain problem

The vehicle is also documented as being prone to getting stuck on uneven terrain, especially at low speed.

Choose flatter firing positions and avoid driving into awkward slopes immediately before a fight. Losing mobility while exposed is especially dangerous because Health is already weak.

RAD ammo and reload warning

Older Wiki documentation describes a complicated interaction between RAD Rocket ammo and the Katyusha launcher, including unusual reload behavior.

However, the current value tracker now explicitly says the RAD Patch that previously allowed RAD missiles to reload was patched. For current gameplay, do not rely on old guides or videos that promise repeatable RAD-ammo reload tricks.

Important: old RAD Katyusha ammo/reload information can be outdated. The current tracker says the old RAD reload patch has been fixed. Treat RAD ammunition as valuable and avoid wasting rockets unnecessarily.

How to use RAD Katyusha in PvP

1. Fire from behind the frontline

Low Health makes direct brawling a bad idea. Stay behind tanks, mechs or terrain and use the large blast radius from range.

2. Lead moving targets

RAD Rockets are slow and unguided. Aim where the vehicle will be, not where it is at the moment you fire.

3. Prioritize large targets

Big tanks, artillery and bosses are easier targets for a slow nuclear-style barrage.

4. Use splash damage

You do not always need a perfect direct hit. Against grouped enemies, landing rockets nearby can still create useful damage pressure.

5. Preserve ammo

Because the old reload behavior has been patched, random long-range spam is less attractive. Wait for high-probability shots.

What does RAP 15K mean?

The supplied screenshot shows RAP 15K. That is exactly the upper end of the current 10K–15K tracked Gem range.

In this case RAP is a reasonable market reference, although star level and recent offers can still change the value of a specific copy.

5-star copies

Recent public trade listings include players advertising upgraded RAD Katyusha copies, including a 5-star Level 84 example.

This supports the idea that star and level progression matter when comparing a heavily upgraded vehicle against the base 10K–15K reference.

Community tier position

A recent all-item community tier list places RAD Katyusha in D tier for overall gameplay. That ranking is community opinion rather than an official game rating.

It does not contradict the vehicle's strong Destroyer X niche: a specialized boss vehicle can be excellent in one use case while ranking lower as a general-purpose PvP item.

Is RAD Katyusha worth keeping?

For boss farming and players who enjoy artillery, yes. Its large RAD blast radius and strong damage give it a specialized role that the normal Katyusha cannot match.

For trading, the 10K–15K range is modest, but Demand 5/10 and Exotic rarity still make it more desirable than the normal Katyusha.
