What is Patriot Truck?

Patriot Truck is a Legendary Surface-to-Air Missile ground vehicle. It was released on April 13, 2024 and originally came from the Patriot Quest at 250K points.

The vehicle is an adaptation of the real-world MIM-104 Patriot concept, but in Military Tycoon it is designed primarily as a mobile anti-air missile platform.

Four hypersonic player-controlled missiles

The main manually controlled weapon consists of 4 hypersonic missiles.

These missiles are especially useful because they are documented as flare ignoring. Their very high speed and long lock-on range make them difficult for ordinary aircraft to evade.

How strong are the hypersonic missiles?

The Military Tycoon Wiki notes that approximately 2 missiles can destroy an AI F-35. It also describes the reload as fast.

This makes the Patriot more dangerous than its modest in-game Damage bar might suggest, especially when the target is an aircraft rather than a heavily armored ground vehicle.

Twelve AI missiles

Patriot Truck also carries 12 AI missiles.

These missiles can automatically aim at nearby targets when the player looks toward the target area. They provide extra anti-air pressure without forcing the driver to manually guide every single shot.

How to use Patriot Truck in PvP

1. Defend areas aircraft must cross

Patriot works best around bases, objectives and predictable flight paths. Let aircraft come into your missile envelope instead of trying to chase them around the map.

2. Use the 4 hypersonic missiles on important targets

Because these missiles ignore flares, save them for aircraft that would normally escape standard lock-on weapons.

3. Let the 12 AI missiles create pressure

Keep your view oriented toward the target area so the AI missile system can contribute while you prepare the manually fired missiles.

4. Do not expose the truck unnecessarily

The vehicle is large and easy to hit. Use buildings, hills and base structures to reduce how much of the truck is visible.

5. Avoid fighting skilled Raptors on their terms

The Wiki specifically notes that the Patriot can struggle against a well-piloted Raptor. Do not assume flare-ignoring missiles make every air matchup automatic.
