What is Santa Killer?
Santa Killer is a holiday reskin of the Boss Killer soldier. Its appearance is Christmas-themed, but the important gameplay mechanic comes from Boss Killer: increased damage against bosses.
The supplied card itself confirms the passive with the text “Deals +50% DMG to Bosses, +50% per star.”
Boss damage bonus
Santa Killer starts with a +50% damage bonus against bosses.
This does not mean +50% against every player or vehicle. The bonus is specifically aimed at boss content, which is why the soldier is much more useful for boss farming than its general Functionality score might suggest.
How stars affect Santa Killer
Military Tycoon's soldier system currently gives +50% stats / DPS per star. The Boss Killer description also states “+50% per star,” which matches the text shown on your Santa Killer card.
| Star level | Boss-focused bonus concept | Copies needed through fusion |
|---|---|---|
| 0★ | Base Santa Killer +50% boss damage passive | 1 |
| 1★ | Additional star scaling | 5 base copies |
| 2★ | Further +50% star scaling | 25 base copies |
| Higher stars | Continues scaling through soldier fusion | Requires increasingly many copies |
Santa Killer is a Boss Killer reskin
The latest tracker explicitly describes Santa Killer as a reskinned Boss Killer.
The normal Boss Killer uses an Assault Rifle and is designed for enhanced boss damage. The Wiki lists Boss Killer's Level 10 damage at 64 and confirms the +50% boss-damage passive.
2024 Christmas / GunMas Shop history
Santa Killer came from the 2024 Christmas GunMas Shop. The Christmas update began around December 23–24, 2024.
Players earned Candy Canes by killing Santa Bots around the map and then spent them in the GunMas Shop.
Santa Killer Crate cost
The Wiki lists the Santa Killer Crate at 20,000 Candy Canes.
That already required event grinding, but the real source of Santa Killer's modern rarity is the extremely low drop chance inside the crate.
0.05% Santa Killer chance
The 2024 GunMas Shop page calls Santa Killer the very rare prize from the Santa Killer Crate and lists a drop chance of only 0.05%.
That equals roughly 1 expected hit per 2,000 crate attempts statistically, although random outcomes can of course vary widely.
Why Scarcity is 10/10
The latest Military Tycoon value list gives Santa Killer the maximum Scarcity 10/10.
Three things support that rating: the short Christmas-event acquisition window, the 20,000-Candy-Cane crate cost and the extremely low 0.05% drop chance.
What the supplied card shows
Your screenshot confirms:
- Name: Santa Killer;
- Rarity: Exotic;
- Passive: +50% DMG to Bosses;
- Star bonus: +50% per star;
- RAP: 3.5M.
Current Santa Killer value
The freshest current value list shows Santa Killer at approximately 3M–4M Gems.
- Demand: 7/10;
- Scarcity: 10/10;
- Functionality: 3/10;
- Trend: Rising;
- Suggested rarity: Exotic;
- Collector Item: Yes;
- Tradable: Yes;
- Special: Yes.
Why an older item page may show a lower value
Some older cached Santa Killer pages still show approximately 2.75M–3.25M. The newer full value list currently shows 3M–4M and a Rising trend.
For a fast-moving collector item, use the freshest value-list timestamp and recent real offers rather than an older cached card.
What does RAP 3.5M mean?
The supplied screenshot shows RAP 3.5M. That sits almost exactly in the middle of the current 3M–4M range.
So unlike many older items whose RAP is badly disconnected from current trades, Santa Killer's displayed RAP is currently a sensible reference point.
Why Demand is high despite Functionality 3/10
Santa Killer is a good example of the difference between gameplay value and collector value. Its general Functionality is only 3/10, but Demand is 7/10 and Scarcity is 10/10.
Players are not paying millions of Gems purely because it is the strongest soldier. They are paying for rarity, Christmas-event history, collector status and the difficulty of finding clean copies.
Community tier position
A recent all-item community tier list places Santa Killer around C tier for general gameplay. Another Limited Edition-focused community list places it much lower when judging pure combat strength.
These are player-made rankings, not official balance ratings, but they reinforce the same point: Santa Killer's market value is driven far more by scarcity and collection than by current meta power.
How to use Santa Killer
1. Use it for boss content
The boss-damage passive is the entire reason to field it instead of treating it only as a collector piece.
2. Keep it alive
Soldiers act as AI bodyguards and respawn through the normal soldier system, but losing your deployed boss-damage unit during a fight reduces your DPS until it is back.
3. Stars matter much more here than on cheap soldiers
Every star requires multiple copies, and Santa Killer itself is extremely rare. A starred Santa Killer represents a large amount of collector inventory.
4. Do not judge it only by general PvP
Functionality 3/10 reflects broad usefulness. Its specialized performance is specifically boss-oriented.
Is Santa Killer worth keeping?
For collectors, definitely one of the more interesting soldiers: 3M–4M value, Scarcity 10/10, Collector status and a Rising trend give it a very strong market profile.
For pure combat, keep it if you regularly fight bosses. If you only care about general PvP, much cheaper soldiers can offer better value per Gem.
