Current tracker profile: LE Blackbird has a drone that locks onto planes and ignores flares. It was hit by a damage-over-time nerf, but the tracker still calls its bomb extremely powerful. It is marked Collector Item, Tradable and Special.

What is LE Blackbird?

LE Blackbird is the Limited Edition golden Blackbird released on December 24, 2024. The Wiki calls it the LE1000 Blackbird because only 1,000 copies were originally available.

It is based on the SR-71 Blackbird concept and was designed around extreme speed, specialized air-to-air pressure and the unique Bomb Drone.

Bomb Drone

The special weapon is the Bomb Drone. The Wiki describes it as a hypersonic drone that launches from the rear of the aircraft and locks onto air targets.

Its most important property is that it can ignore flares and also ignore Supersonic Dodge. The downside is poor tracking, so very fast aircraft can still escape it.

Why the Bomb Drone matters

The current market tracker still highlights the Bomb Drone as the defining part of LE Blackbird's kit. Even after damage-over-time changes reduced part of its old damage profile, the bomb remains one of the reasons the item is still considered special.

In practical PvP, the drone is strongest when used against an aircraft that is already committed to a predictable path rather than a target that can immediately turn away and outrun it.

Two hypersonic missiles

LE Blackbird also carries 2 lock-on hypersonic missiles.

The Wiki describes these as ordinary Blackbird-style missiles with relatively low-to-average damage for a Limited Edition aircraft. They are useful, but the Bomb Drone and speed are the more distinctive parts of the vehicle.

Base stats

The Military Tycoon Wiki lists:

  • Base Speed: 457;
  • Base Health: 3.75K;
  • Total Base Damage: 16.8K;
  • Vehicle Type: Aerial Vehicle;
  • Vehicle Class: Fighter Jet;
  • Special: Bomb Drone;
  • Passenger Seats: none.

How fast is LE Blackbird?

The Wiki lists Base Speed 457 and says LE Blackbird was once the fastest plane in Military Tycoon.

That title later moved to LE Rocket Plane after its 2025 release, but LE Blackbird remains one of the game's most famous speed-focused aircraft.

Original LE1000 crate odds

The Wiki lists only 1,000 copies available through the LE1000 Blackbird crates.

  • Daily / free crate: 0.05%;
  • Premium crate: 3%.

The Wiki also labels the free chance as “1 in 5000,” but mathematically 0.05% is 1 in 2,000. Because the page contains that internal inconsistency, this guide preserves the percentage and avoids repeating the conflicting ratio as fact.

Why Scarcity is 10/10

The current value tracker gives LE Blackbird the maximum Scarcity 10/10. That fits the original LE1000 supply, low crate odds and collector demand around clean copies.

The tracker also marks it as a Collector Item, so part of its value comes from historical rarity rather than pure combat power.

Current LE Blackbird value

The latest tracker lists LE Blackbird at approximately 2.75M–3M Gems.

  • Demand: 5/10;
  • Scarcity: 10/10;
  • Functionality: 3/10;
  • Trend: Stable;
  • Suggested rarity: Limited Edition;
  • Collector Item: Yes;
  • Tradable: Yes;
  • Special: Yes.

Why Functionality is only 3/10

LE Blackbird used to be stronger relative to the rest of the game. Newer aircraft and a DoT nerf reduced some of its old combat advantage.

Its value therefore comes from a mix of speed, Bomb Drone utility and extreme rarity rather than simply being the strongest possible fighter today.

How to use LE Blackbird in PvP

1. Use speed as your defense

With low Health compared with heavy modern aircraft, LE Blackbird is strongest when it avoids incoming damage instead of trying to tank it.

2. Launch the Bomb Drone at committed targets

The drone's anti-flare behavior is valuable, but poor tracking means it works better against targets that cannot immediately escape its line.

3. Do not rely on the two missiles for all your damage

The Wiki describes the missiles as low-to-average damage for an LE item. Use them to apply pressure, then use speed and the Bomb Drone to control the fight.

4. Keep distance from slower heavy hitters

LE Blackbird's advantage is mobility. Staying close to high-damage aircraft removes the biggest reason to use it.

5. Higher-star copies matter

The Wiki specifically recommends fusion around 3–5 stars for stronger performance, and current public trade ads also show star level affecting offers.

Community tier position

A recent all-item community tier list places LE Blackbird in A tier for gameplay quality. A separate Limited Edition ranking also places it in A tier when combining coolness, power and value.

These are player-made rankings rather than official Military Tycoon balance ratings, but they show that the aircraft still has a strong reputation despite the Functionality 3/10 market score.

Is LE Blackbird worth keeping?

For collectors, yes: LE1000 supply, Scarcity 10/10 and Collector status make it one of the more important old Limited Edition aircraft.

For gameplay, it remains fun and distinctive because of its speed and Bomb Drone, but newer aircraft can outperform it in raw combat.

Trading note: the current range is 2.75M–3M and the trend is Stable. Star level can materially affect offers, so compare upgraded copies separately from zero-star copies.
